Clinical outpatient services at IID, focusses on ID with special interest and expertise in HIV medicine. These services primarily offer diagnosis and treatment for opportunistic infections that
often afflict individuals with compromised immune systems, such as those living with HIV/AIDS.
Beyond treating these secondary infections, the services also emphasize prevention strategies
to help patients avoid complications. Recognizing the unique needs of each patient, individualized antiretroviral treatment plans are designed to inhibit the progression of the virus and manage symptoms effectively.Â
Furthermore, clinical care for other ID’s including TB, Hepatitis viruses and bacterial infections are provided. Alongside these medical interventions, these outpatient services underscore the importance of holistic patient care, offering counselling and psychosocial support. This dual approach ensures that patients are not only treated physically but are also provided with the emotional and mental resources they need to navigate their health journey.
Dr. Sanjay Pujari is a highly respected medical expert who has made significant contributions in the field of infectious diseases, with a special emphasis on preventing and caring for people living with HIV. He is currently the Director and Chief Consultant at the Institute of Infectious Diseases in Pune, India. Dr. Pujari has been working in this field for more than 30 years, since he was a medical student .

Dr. Sunil Gaikwad has dedicated over a decade to the Institute of Infectious Diseases, focusing on clinical care for HIV, Tuberculosis, and other infectious diseases. He has co-authored multiple pubmed indexed publications.
